For the past few months with the Covid 19 shut down, my own vulnerable health and general anxiety, I have found it impossible to get down to do some serious artwork. I had been past and coveted the big 1500 piece sets of LEGO in Costco for a while and then my crazy brain started thinking … what about making portraits in LEGO?
The three images above are from one temporary LEGO portrait. This is my first freestyle LEGO portrait attempted… the hair is made from thread made from recycled saris that i have had in my stash for years, threaded through a 3D brick that has holes on one side, very excited to see what else I can thread through those!
The nice thing about this technique is that it is using re-useable materials and the pieces will be recorded on my phone and then broken up for more new art… no stacking of artworks or frames to buy!
