FOR THE LOVE OF TRINITY
FOR THE LOVE OF TRINITY
Mixed media collage. 14×11″. 2021
Recently commissioned for Molly Wheelock a portrait of her recently departed dog, Trinity.
I used hand made paste papers, used bookplates, calendars, maps and general ephemera. I know she loved Zion and Southern Utah, as well as Colorado and all the outdoor activities and I tried to depict that. The threes are a nod to her name and her three colors. RIP sweet dog and thank you Molly for the commission.
"
I am a mixed media an artist who lives and works in Southern Utah.
I use personal narratives as a lens to explore broader cultural and political issues. My own experiences of being an outsider—as an immigrant to this country, and as a woman who pursued a career in a male-dominated profession of my birth country of England, gave me a unique perspective on rights and opportunities many of us take for granted. My work regularly confronts cultural stereotypes and alienation that arise from questions of body image, something that she has become acutely aware of in confronting physical challenges brought about by illness.
I work in many mediums, and currently, I am doing collage portraiture." View all posts by Deborah Durban

I always love your animal portraits! Is the paste paper from one of our ABC group sessions? I have made good use of my supply.
We should plan another paste paper day. Gelli printing too. I will bring that idea up at our meeting on Saturday. Sorry you won’t be there but I’ll let you know what transpires.
